Hub Problems
#1
I have been reading every thing I can about Polaris hubs. I have a 95 Sportsman 400 and when in 2wd the right front hub "clicks" and jerks like it is trying to engage. Also the seal on this hub looks like it is leaking. I have a suspicion that the armature is damaged and that maybe the wear sleeve is worn causing the seal to leak. The seal is brand new! I have done some pretty intensive mechanical work on this and other quads but have never taken the hub assembly apart. I have seen some very informative posts on this subject in this forum but need to know specifically what to look for. Where do I start? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Airwolf,
If it jerks when just riding smoothly down a road, I would strongly suspect that the cv joint is destroyed. I broke one once, and it jerked violently. Don't know about the hub leaking. The front hub assembly is very simple. Perform a search with keyword "hub" or something similar. You should be able to find more info than you care for.
