Napa ( wix) oil filter for 500HO
#1
Bought the recommended NAPA oil filter #1365. The darn thing does'nt snug up to the o-ring seat. The threads on the filter mount run out of space and the oil filter runs out of threads before the o-ring touchs the smooth portion of the filter housing. To be sure I started it briefly and the oil came pouring out from around the o-ring. Whats up with that? I have read in this forum that people use this filter on there 500HO. Please help me out. Maybe NAPA gave me the wrong filter,I even brought in the used Polaris filter to match it up..

yep, that is the one you need, I use this on my prarie & Royal Star street bike (yamaha) if you look close, the 1358 has an indentention that allows the nut aroung the stem of the oil supply to seal, the other listed filters will fit as far as thread, but don't have enough recess to seal, the 1358 is made by wix, I run them for 6000 miles in my street bike. it fits a lot of honda's, yamahas, & quads, even will fit a mazda miata.
