Speed LTU got his money's worth out of those tires!

First quad: Suzi LT250 Quadracer, .060 Wiseco, ported jug, turbo crank, 38mm Keihin, +4" spacers front, +4" axle. Would not tip over unless you already wrecked really really bad. Did some moto-x and flat track with it, and a lot of trails, but it was often too wide for some routes. Whole string of 3-wheelers before that, even one with a YZ465 on it.

First machine: 3hp Tecumseh powered Trail Mule minibike. Thanks Grandpa!

Then moved on to the '69 Honda CT70. The rest is bone breaking history. I've wrecked everything up to a Goldwing, I wouldn't recommend it. My spine can predict rain, left ankle does wind speed, left hand does temp and wind chill. Road rash is great for removing freckles! But they do grow back.

My very first quad was a 2007 Taotao ATA250D. Never missed a beat in all the time I owned it, and I still own it. Over the years the things replaced were tires, chains, sprockets, and one ball joint. The swing arm developed a minor crack at one point but 5 minutes with a wire welder fixed it up. Good little machine that hauled me to some very remote and wonderful places. I like it so much I added the updated version called the Rhino to my herd of bikes.

That's a a suprising that it's so good I gave had two TaoTaos a dirt bike and a quad and both were falling apart literally as I was riding. Someone's I would have to stop during a ride and reihten bolts and then keep riding it was that bad. I still have the dirt bike as a memory cause it was my first atv ever. I switched to Yamaha

I've heard a lot of horror stories about Chinese quads and that was the first positive thing I can recall seeing about them. I guess they accidentally made a good one.

The Taotao ATA250D and Rhino are about as simple as you can get. A basic manual transmission motorcycle engine with chain drive. The Honda CG125 clone engines they use are bullet proof and ubiquitous on motorcycles and 3 wheel trucks in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and South America. I don't know anything about other Taotao models.

1987 Honda 200SX Fourtrax... in red/white/blue. Awesome first ATV for the teen that I was way back then. Explored a lot of farm trails.

Nearly 30 years later... I finally got my 2nd one... a Chinese 250cc.

Cheers!
