How to bond/seal transmission case

I actually used a thin layer of Three Bond on each case half. After the cases are together let it set over night and then you can use a razor blade to remove any external sealant around the gear case. Polaris sealant is the same as Three Bond, but called 3 Bond.Actually it's Three Bond 1215. I used 1104 until it was replaced by 1194 because of lead. All of these are good for cases.2871557 SEALANT,5OZ.3 BOND 1215 $24.99

Not on a thin finger layer around each case half, keeping away from the inner edges of the case. Reason I did both sides is that many cases are irregular, can have gaps and possibly leak if not enough is applied.Nothing worse than having to split one back open for something as trivial as this.Again after any possible excess is exposed to air and hardens, you can use a razor blade to remove. Just be sensible when using sealants.
