Default I need help deciding on a quad!

Alright, so I am going to be buying a new sport quad here in the next few weeks and I am having trouble deciding on which one I should buy. My choices are, Trx400ex, Raptor 700, trx700xx, or ltz400. I will mostly be riding trails and wide open places. Btw I am 16, 5'11, 145 pounds and have had plenty of experience on atvs/quads. I also have the need for speed and need something that will tear up any trail I will be on.

All of the machines you have listed are fine ATVs. The 400's are lighter and nimbler and are great all-around quads. The 700's obviously are going to be considerably more powerful and great for wide open spaces. The Raptor is better suited to the track, while the 700xx has IRS and is really nice for trails. Your best bet is to take your time and ride all the machines you can. Only then can you make a well informed decision.

Do the 400s have the power and quickness to get the job done?

Unless you are a power freak, I would say yes. I have ridden both the Hondas and Suzukis. Have not ridden a Kawasaki 400. I thought they were both great machines for my type of riding, which are trails and dunes. They were able to anything I wanted them to. Again, take the time to ride them before spending your cash and don't base your purchase only on someone's opinion.

Go for the LTZ400, I am a diehard 400EX fan, but the LTZ400 has a little bit more modern power-plant and has quite a bit more snort than a EX, while still being reliable and a great trail machine. The 700s are too much power for someone your size, unless you are over 220lbs, there really is no point to having that kind of power.

Either 400 is a great choice though and you can't go wrong with either. There are a few cheap, simple mods that will make a 400EX come to life in a heartbeat if you go that route.

Yeah I was kinda leaning more towards the 400 in the first place I just wanted to see someone elses opinion on it. Thanks for the advice! Can't wait to get behind the bars of my new quad

after riding for about 42 yrs., having owned probably 12 diff. quads, sports-4 wheel drives both. a Honda 700xx is the last one I`d buy again ! Hondas are reliable, the 700 xx motor is flat weired, a lot of torque supposedly, but you can kill it very easily when you need it most! a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket is almost mandatory . been there , done that !
only made them 2 yrs., too .
