Default Whats a Quadzilla worth?

Thanks guys for the replies.......

He said the previous owner tried to buy it back and offered him 1200 for it, and he turned it down, but I will see what I can do in the morning. I didnt investigate much when I went in the first time. Im going to do a more thorough examination tomorrow. He said it wont start, but I will see if I can get it do anything. I dont have anything to do a compression check. Ill check what year. I didnt believe the nitro deal either. Might have been nitrous, but you wouldnt mix it like that, more than likely alcohol or something like that.

Ill update tomorrow, and see what happens.

Heres the final deal. $1400 is as low as he will go. Im nearly positive its an 87 with a locked up topend (will not kick at all, froze). Whats my options on rebuild? Duneaddict said 120 over is as far as it will go. Resleeve it or I have seen a big bore sleeve kit as well. What do you guys think? Its been sitting there awhile, had a dang bird nest in the air box.

What do you usually mix the gas at on one of these and what octane?

I am probably going to go pick it up this afternoon.

You can probably just get another head on Ebay. There are a couple on there right now. Run the motor on 32:1 with 92 octane gas, if it is mainly stock compression. $1400 is still a great deal for that quad.

New cylinders are almost $500. I think I saw a stock cylinder could be bored to .140, but that might've been a big-bore kit from L.A. sleeve.............

Ive also heard they can go to .140" . I saw one guy claim one that he had gone to .180" on his before he resleeved. I've never seen any site though that lists a piton bigger than .080" over.

Td: You might see what you can find on Wiseco Pistons website... I'm nearly positive that .120 is as large as they make for them.. Don't get me wrong... there are bigger pistons out there, but ones made specifically for the LT is what I'm referring to.

Anyhow, $1,400 isn't a bad price provided the rest of the machine isn't junk/molested/beat to death... Be prepared to spend some cash to get the motor done right... My best advice is to GET A SERVICE MANUAL!! and do it yourself.

Oh... the big bore kit you've seen on ebay might not be a very sweet deal... I've written them asking ???'s and they won't return my emails. The piston and gaskets shown in the photo's appear to be for a 4 stroke (Piston is very short, and head gasket isn't even close)
530cc's is not a big bore either IMHO

Let's see: V=Pie*r^2*h for the volume of a cylinder

Stock--- (3.14159265*43^2*86)/1000 = 499.55cc
@.120 Overbore--- (3.14159265*44.5^2*86)/1000 = 535cc

So unless the sleeve 'starts' at 530cc's and allows even bigger bores... which may be difficult to find pistons for..
Hmm, I question the validity of what they are offering... buyer beware!

Just watch fleabay and pick up another cylinder... SHould be able to find one for around $100 or so.

SBob is right on the $$ with fuel and ratios, etc. The 500's need good fuel as they have the tendancy to detonate even in stock form.

Good luck!

Thanks Duneaddict, and everyone else.

I think there is one more bore left 554cc or 89.5. I believe, im still trying to figure out all the numbers. Im still planning on getting it, I think I finally got all the financial problems sorted out and should have it some time this week.

Wiseco Site

Does anybody know if the Suzuki bolt patterns are the same as anything else???? Hopefully Honda.

ahh, yep! your right... 89.5mm is the biggest they make which equates to ~.138" over... Thanks Wiseco!
The biggest I've seen is .120... that musta been why it was stuck in my head.

as far as bolt patterns go... there is some interchangability b/w the LT500 & LT250... but honda is way different.

Sure would be nice if they were the same...
