Just bought a 04 z 400 and was wondering what the difference in power would be. I've been told that the stock head pipe flows pretty good , and unless you plan on racing or internal motor mods you can go with a slip on. the bike will primarily be ridden in the dunes. Other than doing the exhaust I plan on doing a K+N filter and dropping one tooth on the front sprocket. Do I need to re-jet the carb with a K+N filter and slip on exhaust? Also was looking at the yosh pipe. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

Im not sure how much power diference you will get between hte two, but 1 hp is a lot when you only have around 30hp to start with.

I have a full CT pipe and Im very happy with it. Nice power gain. I mainly ride dunes w/paddle tires and there is no need to regear the quad.

 

does the ct pipe have a spark ares and how loud is it?

 

the ct pipe is high $$$ like 500.00 for the hole pipe go with a slipon hmf.

 

Yes it has a spark arrester. I had it tested and it was 94db, a lot duieter than a lot of other pipes I have heard.

Yes it was $500, it was worth it to me.
