hey guys iam looking at a 86 lt250r new tires new topend and has stock pipe on it whats the most i should pay for this bike and did they handle vary good? do u think they can hang with a piped 400 ex...

i wouldnt pay over 1500 for it,and i really doubt it will keep up with the 400ex

i would say the same, 1500 to 2000 acording to the look and shape of the quad, thats my favorite year to be honest

wont hang with a 400ex??? wut r u smokIN! the 400 will have trouble keeping up with the LT! and the LT's handle very very well since their small, light , and low to the ground. i would pay up to $1,500.

similar to the 87+ the 87+ just make more low-mid power, almost same peek hp. around 31hp figure for the 86. but remember, the 86 weighs 295lbs! + check in my pages to see wut they look like restored and stuFF

The LT will easily hang with a 400ex. The 87+ models actually have more power in the mid and top end, the '85/6 have more low end though. These bikes handle pretty well, they tend to push a bit. It will slide awesome though. Definately stay under $1500, unless it is a super clean total restore. If you buy it, go get a nice pipe and silencer to wake it up a bit.
