the quadrunner has a centrifugal clutch that then turns a normal clutch basket with 5 frictions and 4 steels in it...if you have the book for the 85-86's it is the same for the 87's clutch system....if you want go to www.mrcycles.com and click on suzuki atv parts and then select the year and model and click go and it will bring up exploded parts diagrams so you can see what it looks like before you begin. hope that helps.

230S Quadsports all have manual clutches. The 230E has the centrifugal auto clutch system like ryanp mentioned. You may not need to replace the clutch. It can be adjusted as it wears out over time. The best thing to do is to buy a factory manual for this bike. It details how to adjust it to factory specs and it's actually not too hard to do. I've got about 3 of these manuals. I bought one, and then later got a couple more that came with 230E's that I bought. If you need one, PM me.

David, If you had a 230E (the auto clutch quad that looks like a quadsport), it was at least an 87. That's the first year they made it. The 230S quadsport was made from 85 to 88. The 230E was made from 87 to 93. Now, you could of had an LTF230, or LT230GE which were small utility quads. Those were built in 85 and 86. But they look nothing like quadsports.

David when i said it is a auto i mean all you do is shift, no hand clutch.i tried to adjust the clutch adjuster but there is no adjustment left.then the gasket they gave me for the clutch adjuster cover does not go around the very bottom left hole(this hole is on the crank case not clutch adj. cover).maybe its the wrong gasket or the clutch adj. cover is off of a different model?thank you all for your help.yagerzzz i am interested in buying a manual.

I was wondering if I could get a diagram on how to adjust the clutch on my 87 Quadsport 230E
