I wanted to show the intake port differences, but I don't have any stock 250 intake port pics.
I remember sifting thru my gaskets (I have a collection of head gaskets from various kits I've ordered) to see how many I had incase I wanted to take the head off again. I only had one that fit the 250 head. Not because of the bolt holes, but the bore was too small on most of them. The 250 is 68.5mm stock bore. The largest overbore on a 230 is 68mm. So, all my gaskets are at least .5mm too small.

I don't know how big of a deal I would make of the head. Yeah its better, but you can work the 230 head to get pretty close. 250 valves are cheap from vesrah and if you can find somebody to cut the seat for you, the rest of the porting would be easy. The exhaust you could try to straighten out a bit, but it will never be as straight as the 250. Not sure how big of a deal that would be.
The reason I'm all gushy over the 250 is the rod. That's the bit you want. Longer, stronger = more rpms. Also, because the rod is longer, the jug is taller and has more aluminum fins for cooling. You can get a longer rod from vince for the 230, but that means sending the crank off to him and then making some kind of spacer plate for the 230 jug. I was going to do that before I stumbled on a 250 engine on ebay. I was also looking into carrilo for a custom rod and falicon for balancing the crank (however you spell those). But that's a LOT of money just to make a 230 into a stock 250. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

I have no clue. Just have to use the ole trial n error method with the bender.

That would probably make it really loud. Usually they're fiber glass packed. If you go back some pages, you'll see Randy's pics on how he built his.
