Default Lt250r Differences between 87-88

Are the 87 and 88 quadracers basicly the same? If they are different, what are the pros and cons of each, and are the parts interchangable? Thanks.

Default Lt250r Differences between 87-88

Hey if that works good then I'm in businus. The Lt's I may be buying are a package deal, there is an 87', and an 88'. The 88' doesnt run. If I took the head off the 88' and put it on the 87', would a Paul Turner pipe from the 87' fit on the 88's head? And what about frame wise? Would the fenders from an 88' fit on an 87'? Thanks.

differances in the engines,
heads are different. the 87's have a different dome
intakes are different, 5 bolt instead of the smaller 6.
counter balancers are different. the 87 uses a larger seal than the 88-92.
87 pistons are diferent. year specific pistons because of the different cylinder porting.

frames
frames are basically all the same except for the 91-92 which have a different rear shock and swingarm set up, and a different air box.

the rear axles are diferent on the 87, only because they have a different spline count. the 87 has a 24 spline just like the 85-86. the 88-92 have 26 splines, which is the same as the lt500r, and the z400.

all the fenders swap from 85-92. just that the seats on the 85-86 are different but the fenders still work fine.

Sweet, thanks. I don't really want to wind up screwin one of the Lt's up, so I might just fix em both up and use one for parts, or for a friend. The Paul Turner pipe I was talkin about is already on the 87' bike so I don't know if its low end, but I hope it is, because i never really go above 40 around hear, and I love doin wheelies and spinnin the back tires. Thanks for all the info guys, it really helped. Hopefully I will sell my ATV and gokart this friday so I can pick up the Quadracers. Thanks again.

Sorry dude, but the whole point of me buying two was to have extra parts or if I can get em both workin, use em both. But you can get Quadracer frames for real cheap on ebay. I have seen decent ones go for 50 bucks. Sorry.
