2002 Eiger Wont Run Right Unless Choked
I got a 2002 Suzuki Eiger 450 QuadRunner and I got the plastic nut for the choke and put it on and it wont run right. It will idle with the choke on but if you give it gas with choke after it revs up when it comes back down to idle it will die unless you float with the throttle or hold it just off idle and let it down easy.
While its not choked I am able to keep it running but floating the throttle ALOT and/or holding it wide open and even then it wont keep up at full rev the entire time.... I took the carb apart myself after my buddie did it a few months back and everything was right in it. Little bit of gunk and crud so I cleaned it with carb spray and made sure everything was as clean as when it was made from factory line. Still have to hold the throttle wide open or float it alot to keep it running. It back fires fairly decent amount (not sure if its me causeing that or not. I'm re-choking and then un-choking it when I notice the backfire maybe?), mostly on the exhaust side. It backfire twice on the intake side...
I'm thinking its either A. running rich/air flow restriction or B. the spark plug is fowled.
Anyone else run into this problem? I dont think its the carb since I just examianed everything in it when I cleaned it... Altho the one adjustable "jet" on the bottom of the carb I was told to screw it all the way in and back it out 1 1/2 times. But I read on here its 2 1/2 times. Possible problem?
Thanks,
James

I tore the carb back down and one of the jets wasn't screwed all the way in. I completely cleaned it again and put it back together and put the air/fuel to 3 1/2 turns and it cranked and ran after a few mins messing with it. The only thing I dont like is I have the idle screw almost maxed out, and its running a little rich. Waiting for it to cool a bit before I play with the air/fuel screw. It was an unknown problem that I have no solution for...
