Just picked up an old 4 wheeler from a buddy that has been sitting for a while. Model states it is an LT 300, and I was kinda wondering what year it might be. All of the stickers on the side are gone.

He said one of the problems it had was that the drive chain keeps falling off, I have heard that the swing arms might need to be replaced, but I'm not sure. Could someone verify that for me? Or should I just take a link out of the chain.

The next thing is that there is a black lever on the right side of the controls on the left side of handlebars that can be pushed up or down, there is an arrow on it pointing down. I was wondering if that was the choke?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm new to atv's

 

Don't know much about engines on atv's yet, but I've owned my 96 King Quad 300 for almost a year now. But yes that is the choke right next to the low and high beam lights and the starter button.
