i have a friend who has a 2003 suzuki z400 for sale told me sell it to me for 1000 dollars runs great not a problem with nothing except has a cracked crank case is wut he told me leaks oil but not to bad and needs new back brakes the quad has been used fairly but still gets up and goes is this a good quad to fix or can i fix it was wondering just want a extra quad for friends and my wife wants to start riding? the crack is right where the shifter is. possibly could be a bad seal right there i didnt look underneath it was dark so didnt bother. and sorry if i put this thread in a wrong spot brand new here!

Just me, but even the thought of it having a cracked case would have me walking away. If it is, you'll doulbe your costs fixing it and that's if you do the work. For the 2k, you could have gotten a newer one that wasn't such a gamble.

 

Plus 1 on what scootergptx said! Also like to say If it was an seal your friend would replaced seal to get more out of it, the case maybe cracked from an loose drive chain or bad axle bearing, this will cause chain to come off when suspension flexs and chain will hit case to crack or break case...IMO.. Also this an pretty hot or fast quad for an beginner.... IMO i would look for another quad unless you can repair it yourself....
