Default 4 year update on my 2007 EIGER

I bought my 2007 EIGER Dec 26th 2006 since then I have used the heck out if it. I wouldnt call it abused but used. I do not sink it in mud but it never rides on smooth trails either. From June through February its busy. The quad is used by my father, and a few buddys and of course me. We hang trail cams, tree stands feeders, haul feed, people deer winch things and of course we ride. I do not know how many miles are on it. I did run a lighter oil this year I used a 5w40 (rotella T6) the bike warmed up noticeably quicker than with the 10w40. I have had zero problems with the bike I will need some tires and rims soon I hope to get one more season with them. I had to replace the battery and I did the plug last year just to do it. I just wanted to leave a positive post on a 4 year test on my Suzuki for the record I towed out my buddys brute force (750) and sportsman (500). The funny thing is one of them asked me if I was ever sorry that I didn't get a bigger quad..

it's good to see a good post. most all post are negative because we are having problems, but what is a forum like this for. we learn a lot about our machines and are able to share our experiences. you post is particularly nice for me as i just bought a 2009 Suzuki LT 400. it was new at the dealership with only 2.3 miles on it. my only problem with it was the battery. it would only take a 60% charge. the dealer tested the machine and replaced the battery. i'm looking forward to many years of fun on it. as for a bigger machine i will not be plowing show and my 400 performed as well as the bigger Polaris when i was at the orv park last week end. Polaris are good machines too, not putting them down i also own an older trail boss.

Live2....... Thanks for your update. I totally agree on what you stated. I have 2 Eigers 02 -2X4 and 05 -4X4. I call the 05 my wife's but I drive just as much if not more then her. (I ride it when she does not go with me). Put with that said I do like my 02 also and just treat it like a sport ATV alot to get through the tough spots. I get trough (overall) just as much mud on my 02 as the larger ATV's with 4X4. Since it is lighter it does not sink like there's. The only real maintance on the 02 was the flywheel magnets came lose (02-04 models are known to do this). Plus front brakes. On the 05 I'm now working on replacing all wheel bearings and u-joints. Plus have replaced front brakes. The 02 has 3600+ miles and 05 has 1700 miles. I did buy both used 3 years ago and put on 1500+ miles on each. So not alot but they have not just seat. I do also plow snow with the 05.
All the adults that I ride with do have larger ATV's-- all but one are above 650cc's. They can not beleive how I keep up with them and go though the mud (of couse they can go faster on road). But 45-50mph is fast enough on road anyway on a ATV.

I believe they have not change the engine, very relieable. Basically they only changed the plastic when they dropped the Eiger name to KingQuad.

They are very relieable. I have heard of someone having over 30,000 miles on one. No joke! He dove it everywhere-- his daily driver. He only put in the normal maintance until he had over 25,000mi. That is when he tore it all down and went through it and replaced anything starting to ware--including engine.

I have some 1989 Yamaha 350 Big Bear stories for you if this turns into "who abused there ATV the most and longest and it was still reliable" topic.

God I miss that ATV sometimes. I sold it to a friend who still rides it to this day.

Good to hear - just got an 11 King Quad 400. Hope to keep it a long time.

Funny how these are now considered "little" atvs.

Default My Eiger

My Eiger is a 2006. All I have done to it is put on some 589's and installed a snorkel for the air intake. I take my bike through some rough terrain and pretty deep mud holes. I would say "Damned Good Bike!!'

I get a lot of flak from some of the people I ride with.. but I've pulled just about every one of them out at least once!!!!

It's not the fastest. It's not the biggest. But it does the job like a work horse. It moves along, gets in the mud, and keeps pulling!

I now ride an '06 Foreman with 32" Mud-Lites with a 2" lift kit and performance exhaust.....

I would say it does not have the torque that the Suzuki has. That Eiger will run!!!

I considered a used eiger when I was shopping. After months of searching I could not find one in good shape at my price point.

I was disappointed, people have great things to say about these machines.
