Default 500axi Winch Installation Help Please

Just picked up the new 2011 Suzuki King Quad 500axi Power Steering machines, and I would like to install the winch I removed from my Vinson. Does anyone know where the "pre-wired" wires are for the contactor. I figured out that the #6AWG power wires aren't there, but I was hoping that the contactor control wires were someplace. The owners manual is worthless on this subject. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Pre-wired... I don't think that's correct...

On my 2011 KQ 750axi there is a plastic conduit that runs along the right side of the machine and stretches from just behind the winch area to the area under the seat. Look for a black flexible plastic about 1.5 or 2.0 inch diameter...

My winch came with all the wires to go from the battery to the solenoid and finally to the winch...

The winch harness also had a small guage power wire which needs to be hooked to a wire which has power when the key is "on"...

On my 750 there were a couple wires (with plugs on the end) near the upper radiator hose which were not connected to anything. I found that one of these went on with the key so I cut off the empty plug and soldered my winch wire to it.

Hope this helps

Oh, and another thing...

There is a place under the seat that had the correct bolt pattern for my winch solenoid (contactor). I only put 2 screws in it because it looked like a ton of work to get to the other two holes but it's working great.

Suzuki did a real nice job in my opinion.

CNCPRO, thank you for the quick reply. I will check out the location you suggested and see if there is anything on the 500 that will work for a "key on" voltage. I ordered a remote relay today so I don't have to drill a hole in the plastic for the wired remote. Hopefully I will be installing my winch on Friday if my plate and wireless remote get here in time. Thanks again for the advise.
