Default Quadrunner Centrifugal clutch question?

I put in a good used centrifual clutch, with new clutch plates and springs in my 1991 quadrunner 250 4x4.
Heres the dilema. Im not sure if i have that little screw on the side of the case adjusted right though, because it kinda feels like a stall converter. When you give it gas , it revs up and slowly starts to move, then all of a sudden it grabs and takes off. I have two of these machines and my other machine begins to move as soon as you give it gas without reving before engaging. Would that screw have anything to do with that?

Thx

On my 85 QuadRunner 250 that screw adjusts the disengagement of the plates, if it's too tight the clutch slips. Loosen the center screw out, then srcew in until it just touches, then out 1/8 turn.
Hope that helps.

If th old spring clutch was wore out the drum is most likely toast too. All that clutch material and metal from the drum is carried in the engine oil to the piston skirt.

Well i messed around with that screw and nut a couple days ago. It still wants to rev before it moves. It doesnt engage right away when you hit the gas like my other one. Not sure why. I even put in new clutches and springs. Its like the motor has to rev more before the centrifugal clutches grab to get the atv moving. Bad centrifugal clutch still? I purchased this one used since my first one fell apart.
