LT 230 Engine noise.

LT 230 Engine noise.
Ok I have had this thing apart a few times and am starting to get a little frustrated. It seems like I drain the oil, take what I need to apart, put it back together, and try it out. BUT there always seems to be something else goin on.
This time there is a noise coming from the clutch side of the engine. It is pretty fast in rhythm, and I cant tell if it gets faster with more throttle, because it is over powered by the engine noise itself. If I could describe it, it sounds like a bolt is lose and something is hitting it. Just about a fast tunk tunk tunk tunk. Almost like an pinhole exhaust leak. To pin point it, it seems to be coming from the oil pump area/front of the engine.
When I let out the clutch, and the engine gets some torque on it instead of idling, the noise seems to go away.
I had 4 ideas: 1. Could it be a bad oil pump? 2. Is it something with the clutch? 3. Could it be a crank bearing? 4. A lose bolt in the oil pump or clutch.
Either way I should probably drain the oil, take off the clutch cover, and hope to not screw up the gasket.
Has anybody ever came across this before?

I found out what the problem was. The nut on the primary gear was lose and rattling around. I loc-tited it up good. The problem though I forgot to put the thrust washer on. I'll try to get the nut off and set everything up again tomorrow. I was about to break something when I couldn't get it off again.
