Default break in advice

hey guys. I just got done rebuilding my 87 lt 230 engine. mostly stock accept for crank parts and 66.5 mm. wiseco piston. I was hoping someone could give me some advice on what I should do before I crank it over and how to gently break it in

You want to keep it under a load and low rpm's for at least the first 15 mins.

Go hill climbing but not hills that require high rpm's to pull the hill.

Do not start it just to hear it run, the first 15 mins. of run is what seats the rings!

hey thanx alot diamonbird. I took your advice and it went well. It's awesome to ride without seeing a smokescreen behind me. I've never rebuilt an atv engine before but having the crank rebuilt at a machine shop and re-ringing it made the rebuild worthwhile. The LT is running awesome after it got done smoking at first as to be expected while the rings were seating. thanx again.

What we use to do for new engines at the shop, was add a little 2 cycle oil in the gas for the 1st tank on the new engine also. this helps with a little extra coating.

We would add like a 2 liter plastic cap top, full of the 2 cycle oil into the tank.
