Default 86 Lt230s hard to shift

Hey,

I am having some trouble with this one. My lt230s is having a hard time. When I shift it takes a lot of force to get it to go into gear. It goes into gear and stays there but the tension on the foot shift is crazy hard. Oh and it wont go in neutral.

It was working ok, then the cranshaft bearings siezed. So I took it apart, and put it back together, and this problem arised. I spent a couple weeks last winter looking through all the parts on the transmission, put it together. The problem was still there.

In the manual it says to put all the dogs, on the shifting forks, into their respective spots on the shifting drum. When I did this it was tough to do. I basically had to jam them in place. And couldn't turn the drum to shift through the gears with my hand, I had to use channel locks. Could this be my problem, and what am I doin wrong?

What does that include? The to cases, trans, and cankshaft. Or is it the whole bottom half of the engine, of course minus the cylinder and head?
