Default Issues with quadrunner

I recently picked up an 85 quadrunner lt230 with the shaft drive, electric and pull start, and semi auto clutch. The lightest issue I'm having with it is it runs but will not move, in any gear including reverse. It also would not run without being choked and occasionally died when you hit the gas. My first thought was the clutch as far as it not going anywhere. So I pulled off the cover and the clutch doesn't LOOK bad. Could be wrong though. I've left it open and am letting all of the old fluids drain out for the past few days. I pulled the cover off the transmission as well and spun the gears by hand and it moved so its not the tranny I also cleaned the carb after I had the motor apart so I'm not sure if that fixed the idling issue. My question is could it being choked make it not work? Also what other issues could I be looking at and what should I look for? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Years ago I had a Tri-Z do the same thing. I pulled the clutch plates apart and put it back together. It had sat for so long the clutch would just spin and not release to engage the trans.
