86 LT230 DG Exhaust header

Sorry I took so long. First of all my stock header looks like ****... and the inside is really gunked up from the previous owner. But the muffler diameter compared to the header diameter is too large, a clamp won't do anything. I considered cutting slits on the muffler where it meets the header so i can bend the pieces down and clamp it, but I'd rather have a half descent DG brand header, or make a brand new clean one myself with a larger diameter. Let me know what you think

Wow, never seen that before. You could make a heat resistant bushing to slide in there and then clamp it tight. Maybe steel or rubber. You could obviously do what you originally stated and just weld some pipe on. If you cut the end in strips, you could look into a 2 stroke clamp. How 2 strokes do there clamps. You can purchase aluminum ones. Of course the inner diameter of the clamp must fit the outer diameter of the pipe, which could take some research. You could also clamp them together with a heat resistant rubber tube

yeah thanks for the ideas man. no one have a DG header from a parts bike or something? DG won't sell me just the header, which is bad customer service on their part if you ask me. I know they want me to buy the entire exhaust, but I already have their muffler- its not like its a competitors muffler or something.
