Default LT250s White Brothers Piston

Hey Guys,

I thought I had some emails or PMs from the group about a piston I bought, but I must have deleted them. Well I bought this White Brothers piston for my 1990 LT250s and was thinking about boring the cylinder and installing it, but what else would I need to do?

I thought there was a mention about Hot Cams or something like that.....

Anyway here is the piston...

Not sure if you can getter a better cam for the lt250s. I havent seen one personally. You can do a valve job and get stiffer valves. You can also add an aftermarket pipe and rejet or go bigger in the carb. I would suggest new clutch plates if you haven't already and check the oil pump out. According to randy, you can use the 230 flywheel for more advanced timing, but never tried it personally. A new timing chain is probably needed too. You can upgrade the lighting output to a 75watt coil but this is still being experimented by me. I'll let you know how it goes

That piston sure looks familiar. Where did you get it? I'm pretty sure that is the one I'm running in my king quad.

I 2nd the cam chain, especially if you're getting stiffer springs, which you should if you plan on turning some rpms. The LT4WD had ovate springs in certain early years and those things are super stiff! If you're interested, let me know and I'll dig up the info.

Other than that, I would find someone you really trust to bore it. There is only one guy I trust and if he is on vacation, I'll wait until he gets back before I'll let his employees do it.

What are you trying to build? You can always go farther and do lots of crazy things for more power.

Any cam for the 230 will work for the 250. Webcams, megacycle or hotcams, but I shy away from hotcams (made in taiwan). Webcams you have to send in your rockers to be hard-welded. Megacycle is plug n play, but the amount of lift scares me. Unless you're building a beast, I wouldn't change the cam. The stock 250 cam is pretty good as is.
