Question 91 lt230e rebuild help

Ok let's start off by saying I have no experience with anything with a motor. So please be gentle on me lol. I have a 91 suzuki lt230e I just ordered a recoil starter and as soon as I find a battery I'm getting that to. But earlier I wanted to pull start it with my truck to see if it would turn over. Long story short it starts and run but when I compress the throttle it doesn't seem to raise the rpms and will only stay running while being pulled by my truck. I had the carb apart with a friend who's a back yard mechanic and cleaned it out he said it looked good so any info on why the quad will start and run while being towed but the throttle dosnt raise the rpms and when the truck stops the quad sputters out even when I have the throttle compressed please help me out
Thank you much

Is the plug wet (getting fuel)?
You removed both jets and cleaned well?

Default Thumb throttle problem?

Sounds like your throttle n cable is not working properly, take the top of your carb of and pull the plunger out let it hang there next to your carb n work your thumb throttle in n out and watch to see if your plunger is moving up n down freely if not maybe one reason the RPMs won't go up

Sounds like to much fuel, make sure carburetor closes when you let off throttle. I had akink in cable that kept from shuting fuel off.
