Default Chain won't stay tight

Hey guys just bought a 92 lt250r that needed a bit of tlc. I've got most of it done and the quad runs great. The only problem I'm having is the chain keeps becoming loose after about a 15 minute ride. The bolts were just tightened and had blue locktite put on them. Any thoughts? Old chain or axle bearings?

Just jack the rear end up ad check for any play in the axle carrier bearings.Plus roll the rear wheel around and see if there are any high/low spots or tightening or loosening in the chain as it rolls around the sprockets.Plus check for any side to side play in the chain links. If there is the chain is worn out and needs t be replaced.Hard to keep a worn out chain adjusted properly.Plus don't over look worn sprockets as it's best to replace the chain and sprockets as a set.

I had the chain off last night to see if I could feel any extra resistance in the bearings. The bearings feel smooth but the brake rotor is warped a touch and is rubbing on the pads. The chain and sprockets appear to be fairly old, I'll put them back on today and check for any slop in the chain and if it tightens up at any spot. Thanks.

is the chain tension plate still on this unit? If not you will be fighting a loosing battle trying to keep the chain tight.

The plate I would assume goes across the rear of the swing arm where there should be 2 bolts sticking out? There is not one here if thats what you meant. I'm actually missing one of the bolts.

yep that wold be the one.. without that it will be impossible to keep things tight. I had one where the nut was slightly stripped.. i snapped bolts trying to get it tight enough before i realized
