1996 King Quad Won't Start
Hi guys,
I have a King Quad 300 I just changed the oil in. Took it for a little ride then got off and noticed it was idling high. (sounded like almost 1/4 throttle high) then suddenly it just up and died. No idea what happened.
I called the local shop and they said probably a carb problem but I don't even know where to start. I've done my fair share of outboard boat motor repairs and sled repairs but this is my first quad and therefore first quad repair.
If anyone has any ideas on this I would greatly appreciate it as I just want something to have a little fun on and I traded away my sled for this. I'm willing to let the dealer have at it but it makes me sick to think of that bill. Really frustrated right now and any assistance is much appreciated.
Thanks.

First, make sure the breather in the filler cap is not blocked by loosening it and trying to start. Suzukis have a fancy fuel tap, in the on position the manifold vacuum opens the tap. In prime the fuel runs through all the time, try running in prime in case the vac pipe or tap has a fault. If none of this works, dismantle the carb, not sure if the old 300 had a slide choke or CD carb but there are lots of instructions on the net on how to do this, just remember it ran right before, so don't fiddle with the float level or mixture screw. Blow the jets out, clean the float bowl and you should get a running bike.
