Default 05 Kingquad 700 FI light

we have a 05 KQ 700 that threw the FI light when my dad was out for a ride then I got on it to ride and it was out, but the light came on on my way back home. bike runs great, starts no problem, and goes like a bat out of hell.

any way to make the code display on the dash screen without going to the dealer or buying the tool? we have a service manual that explains how to troubleshoot the codes but no way to view the code.

Yes, there is a white plug under the seat near the solenoid, it has a rubber cover. When the cover is off two wires can be shorted to bring the codes up on the dash but this only works when the fault is on. Trouble is my plug in tool that shorts the wires is at work and I won't be there to check which two wires it joins until Monday.

The wires to the temp sender unit are notorious on these quads for breaking at the plug, so it could be these, the bike seems OK but won't start when the fault is on when these go bad.

awesome thanks a lot man! i'll have to go for a ride to make the fault come on again this weekend anyways. i'll do so and make sure I have a piece of wire for a jumper so as soon as you can let me know which wires I can see me a code. good ol' large corporations, trying to make you buy a toggle switch that shorts 2 wires together.

Sorry not to get back yesterday, I forgot to check. Anyway, I was servicing a 450 today and the wires to jump together are the black with white tracer and the white with red tracer.

still haven't had time to check of the wire colours were the same for me as what you posted, but I have rode the bike a couple times, and sure enough, the fault hasn't come back on either...... ugh. this will be a waiting game.

okay my wires do match the colors you posted, but I only saw the fault once and it was gone the next time I cycled the key, so it will be a waiting game, once I see the code im good as we have a proper Suzuki manual. Thanks a lot, happy riding!

saw the code today, C14, and the little dash beside the code was low, so will adjust the TPS accordingly using our service manual and make sure the connection isn't messed up then see if it stays away. hopefully the quads will get serviced after my WR450 is finished getting tuned up for next year thanks a lot again!
