Default Cracked case

Chain popped and cracked my case. Looking for a fix without buying a new case. What would work best?

I took all of my broken pieces to a guy I know that does custom welding and machining for a living. He was able to piece it together for $35 and I made a gasket out of a cardboard shirt box with black rtv sealer on both sides. Been holding oil for over a year now.
