LT230 Chain tightens up after put in first
Hello, just bought this 1987 LT230 and replaced a couple parts. One being the transmission retainer that was broken and the rear drive chain tensioners.
I adjusted the chain, tightened everything down and was going to take it out for a test. As soon as I put it in first it clunked and the chain was really tight on the top. Worn bearings?
Thanks for the feedback.

Welcome to the forums.
When anyone puts a machine in gear it'll tighten the top of the chain.
I have a LT230E (auto clutch) and it does that.
If it's clunking very hard, (and presuming you have the clutch model) and wanting to move the machine, I'd suspect a clutch basket/clutch plate problem.
Surely others more familiar with that machine will chime in.
