88 LT250F is Alive!! >=)
Rescued an 88 LT250F 4x4 from my father.
He parked it 3 or 4 years ago after he got his Kawi sxs.
I dragged it out of the bush in which it was parked and brought it home to clean up as best I could.
Inflated the tires and they hold, that's good. The headlight / battery cover is missing, so I've ordered a new one.
The air filter was destroyed by some critter, most likely a squirrel and a mass of sunflower seed shucks. New filter ordered to replace that, and seeds cleaned out.
I will still need a battery as the one which belongs with it is missing.
I will need to do a full fluid change for sure and clean the carb, but it still runs. Through about a litre of fresh gas in with what was already in the tank (not much in it) and after it sat for a while it fired pretty much right up.
The front brakes work great. The rears are shot I believe but that's no big deal really. The only thing which seems a bit off to me is the rear wheels tilt out from the top quite a ways when there's no load on it. Not sure if that's normal or not.
I'll be sure to get some pics soon. So excited to get this up and running properly It's a fun little thing to rip around on.
