Flooding isn't good. That certainly can effect things because of the extra fuel. The new needle and seat in the kit should help. We need to fix that problem to go on.
Pics: hard to tell. prolly ok. Altho, clutch servicing is highly recommended.

thanks for all the help LT80, seems like the guy i bought it from is willing to leaving me hanging high and dry with the deceptions when it sold it to me "in perfect working order" and "well maintained"

So you do not think the belt should be sitting lower on the front variator clutch? It seems like its stuck on out the outside edge of it, the bike was off so should it not have opened up and let the belt drop down lower?

To be honest, the guy may have thought that.
Most LT80's run so good for so long that ppl say that.
He prolly kept the air filter clean and thought he was doing good.
I've found that very few have had clutch maint.
I def think you should service the clutchs whether it's part of this bog problem or not.

I'm with Jack on this...doing a complete ground up rebuild on my boy's LT80 and I can say that the primary had way too much hard grease and the secondary was never serviced (since 1988)...so check the clutches. Hard to check as they don't have a neutral to see how the motor is running...

Another thought...my neighbor's '87 was acting like yours...kinda flooding out when giving it throttle...we lifted the rear off the ground and kept giving it progressively more throttle until it cleared itself...took about 5 min...but we were able to get the RPM's up without any load...after that all was good.

Just a point:: sanding:: it's really a clean-up. The crank is hardened thus "sanding" it down is just how I explain it.

Thanks again for all the help guys, I checked the crankcase and removed it.. Belt was changed out and still looked good, it was very clean and all seemed to be in order, so i shut that back up for now and will concentrate on the Carb rebuild to see if the flooding/float valve problem could have been the issue before I go into tearing out the clutches and rebuilding right at the beginning of the season But trust me if the carb doe snot fix it, that's where I'm going next, and if it does then i will do the clutches in the fall.

Quick question though, i bought the following kit : https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B004J38H68/...951220_TE_dp_1

And got it all replaced but was left with one O ring that i could not find on the existing carb to replace. the small one that i have circled in the image in RED.

So I did:

GREEN Needle and Needle sleeve/barrel not shown in pic
LIGHT BLUE: Idle needle
PINK: Jets
YELLOW: O ring for Choke
BLUE: Float needle

There was no Flat washer included in the kit that is seen in the pic

I believe the (red) circled O-ring goes with the Idle adjustment and spring (light blue)...you'll know if the O-ring fits snug over the screw...

I believe...If not perhaps the manual choke plunger...

ok I checked , and i put an O ring on the idle adjuster, and the one i have left over is even smaller in diameter than that, and its flat? maybe its just not needed, they might have added it by mistake?

Maybe for the mainjet? There was no O ring on the one i replaced it with?

I'd carefully review a parts fiche...it might shed some light on it...
