Default 2005 Suzuki King Quad 700 efi still smoking...

I just did a top end gasket rebuild on this bike. Everything seemed fine other than junk build up on the exhaust valves. I cleaned everything and put it back together with all new gaskets and it still blows whittish smoke. The spark plug is more on the black side. No coolant seems to be disappearing. What do you all think it is?

If you replaced the valve guide seals along with new head gasket, then sound like blow by on the piston and rings.

I replaced the valve stem seals, head gasket, and base gasket between the jug and crankcases.

If you went to all that trouble of tearing it down I would have checked piston to cylinder clearance along with ring end gap in the cylinder.May have gotten by with just a new set of rings and a light cylinder hone.

Don't hone the bore. The 700 bore is teflon coated, and any problem with it means a new cylinder.

Teflon coated? Thought these were Nikasil plated same as most other makes. These we could lightly ball hone just to break the glaze for better ring seating. Saw that they're plasma coated, same as what the Shelby Cobra came out with some years back.http://articles.sae.org/7624/

We maintained a 700 that was burning some oil, the owner was an idiot who, despite warnings from us every time he brought it in, never topped the oil up, resulting in it seizing a cam. While we had the head off, we decided to re-ring it to cure the oil consumption, and the Suzuki dealer told us the bore was teflon coated, when they sold us the new rings.

I've never had to do a rebuild on a atv before. I've done trucks but not an atv. How to I check the piston to cylinder clearance as well as the ring end gap that you speak of?

See if this helps, but you really need a manual for exact specs.
Plus here's one on a two stroke Ktm with a Nikasil cylinder.
