Default Where do you go for parts?

Need a starter motor for my 2002 Suzuki ozark. The OEM starter is way out of my budget. I see Amazon and ebay have aftermarket starters for under $40.00. I can only assume these are Chinese manufactured pieces of junk that won't last a year but maybe not.

I can also go the OEM used parts. They seem plentiful on ebay. I can get a starter off a 2012 for 37.00 shipped. That seems reasonable.

Are there any aftermarket manufacturers that are trusted here?

Thanks !

I've ordered a few of the cheap starters. Most have been fine.1 went bad almost immediately and they replaced it fast with no problem.

Default Rod knock? Something else?

Disregard title, that is for another thread. Anyway, I think I will try the used starter off the 2012 Ozark. Only 4 years old with and at 38.00 shipped, it is worth a try.

We buy starters etc, from an aftermarket supplier. Up to about 5 years ago they seemed to be genuine Mitsuba etc. However they now supply ones with a Made In China sticker and they are poor in quality. We rarely fit new starters anyway, as a new set of brushes and a clean out will work 95% of the time. However half of the Chinese ones have been beyond repair when they come in, loose magnets and burnt coms etc.

I bought the OEM used starter off ebay for $34.95 shipped. I thought that was a really good deal considering it is only 4 years old, it came off a 2012.

i bought an OEM used one off ebay for $35.00 shipped. I thought that was a really good deal considering it is only 4 years old (came off a 2012). A new OEM starter is about $350.00 OUCH!

I would rather buy a used one off eBay, than a truckload of Chinese ones. My Arctic Cats are 15 and 14 years old, with Suzuki motors, no problems. Let me know when you see a 15 year old Chinese... anything.
