Help!! 1999 bear tracker my cam bolt wont stay tight and it keep jumping out of timin
I recently pick up a 1999 Yamaha Bear tracker 250. Maybe someone can help me diagnose this.
I have spark, fuel, and air.
It sounds like my starter just sits there and spins doesn't engage.
So I took of the pull start and the stator to look at the starter, to watch it spin.
It looks like everything is spinning correctly including the flywheel.
So it decided to check the timing while I had it uncovered.
I found the that cam Bolt was loose and I could remove it with my fingers.
I re-alined the time and tighten the cam bolt, did a test to see if it would spin and it jumped out of time and the bolt came loose.
Also I notice old oil build up around the (exhaust tappet cover). Could I have a blown gasket?
Also I feel like I have no compression when I tried to use the pull start.
I am new at doing this so any advise would be great.
