I wonder if it would work on my 5x8 foot trailer. It's so short that it jackknifes really easy. Short trailers are harder to back up than long ones.

All it does is add a second steering wheel that presumably is more intuitive to steering the trailer. The driver still controls the gas and brake. If the driver doesn't master how to use the **** (i.e., second steering wheel), problems can still occur.

That is cool. I can see some issues with using this system and not having a guide though. It would be pretty easy to run a larger trailer into a tree or something.

that is neat.

Another good trick I have seen for people who are bad at backing up a trailer is people who put a ball hitch on the front of the truck.

But isn't it hard to back up your truck all the way to the boat launch ramp?
