Problems w/ Prairie 700?
Looking for some feedback from Prairie 700 owners,
A buddy of mine is in the market and has read nothing but raving reviews in all the quad mags, however while shopping we spoke with a guy whos been having problems with his... He told us that the quad consistently stalls on him and claims that kawasaki has been having that problem with all the new 700's, supposedly the quad was fine after a couple of trips into the shop...
Anybody here about this or worse yet experience it... A little feedback would be help, thanks

Ellmo we have 5 in our club now they have been at least as reliable as the best (Honda maybe the best they are very reliable also ) and way better than most. All have been very reliable no problems to speak of at all ( not even a belt ).Unlike the Polaris and Yamahas they seem to be on the other side of the specturm ( thats why we carry tow straps ). Kaws are very reliable you just need to do some maintaince every so often ( no more than the other quads and less than most ).

Problems w/ Prairie 700?
Yo Ellmo,
I am Ellmo's buddy and want to buy the Prairie 700 within the next week or two. Some guy I was talking to said the 650 is a better machine and that the 700 stalls constantly and to wait for next years model. I find this hard to believe, sine I haven't heard this anywhere else. I would love to hear from some 700 owners. Also what is a good price for the 700. So far I've gotten one dealer down to $6,400 and another to $6450. Thanks!

I would be looking at the P700 over the P650 main reason the clutch is 100 percent better for long term. The 700 is a nicer bike in the middle range too. The Airbox is the same as and 03 P650/700. The P650 is no longer sold new. Princing around 8500-9100 can pricing here.

Problems w/ Prairie 700?
I bought the P700 over a used P650 for many of the same reasons you have heard here already...l more torq/power, better clutch, better handling... more potential with upgrades too! My brother has a 2002 P650, and it's a night and day difference between the bikes!!! My P700 will stomp his P650 anytime anywhere under any situation!! Also, when we go into deep water, his bike howls as the belt always seems to get wet.. but my P700 has never had a belt issue of any kind. In 6mths of riding it, it has ALWAYS done what I have asked it to do, with no complaints, no stalls, no problems!!
Yes, the P700 is cold blooded somewhat... but just give it a bit of choke, or reach down and bump up the idle till it's warmed up good. It usually only takes a couple minutes to warm up nice... and I rode mine all winter long on trails, frozen soupy mud, plowing snow..and never had an issue!!
Don't settle for anything but a V-Twin!!

Problems w/ Prairie 700?
I have had my prairie 700 for 7 months and I have not had any problems at all with it. It has been everything that I wanted and more. I didn't like the lack of ground clearance, but the power is so enormus that it helps over come that. I also put 26" IPT 589 tires, a 2" lift and 2500lb warn winch to enhance it. Nothing but awsome.
