98 or 99 big bear ??? whats different
Are yout talking about 2wd or 4wd? because if you are refering to 4wd there is no differeance that comes to mind, if you are talking about 2wd then the whole machine is different such as disc brakes (front) no hi/lo trans different well just about everything. I belive that was the change from 98-99 or 99 might have been the year they bumped up to 400cc but i was thinking that was 2000 when that happend. Oh and the 4wd changed from the old design 350 to the newer degin 350 a year before the 2wd did.

Thanks , I was refering to the 2wd. And the biggest difference i have noticed is the front brakes. Other than that the dang rear AXLE is different as well. and that was a problem i was having . The guy i bought the bike from said it was a 98, and i ordered a new axle for a 98 but it was wrong , i don't have the papers yet and the bike was wrecked and when it was fixed the person the cut and welded the frame back ruined the serial numbers. So i had to do some research to find out the difference in the 2 models.
and mine is a 99 disc front brakes.
BTW 2000 is when the switched to the 400cc engine.
