Default Arctic cat 700 opinion

To add to a previous question..... what are thoughts on 2007 Arctic Cat 700? Looking at one of these also. 600 miles, power steering, $4200.

So....my contenders are

1.2011 polaris 550 eps, $4800
2. 2008 can am 800 outlander limited, $5000
3 660 or 700 grizzly
4. 2007 Arctic cat 700

Thoughts?

I'd probably choose the Arctic Cat first, Grizzly next, Can Am next and having been burned in the butt by a Polaris, Polaris, never.

I don't think an 07 Arctic Cat has power steering unless someone added an aftermarket kit to it. Only the Grizzly 700 had it then as Yamaha was first to put it on anything. I just checked and Arctic Cat didn't have it until 2010 on the 700. But still an 07 with 600 miles for around $4000 isn't bad. That engine is comparable to the Grizzly 700 efi engine in power. The Can-Am is going to have by far the most power of any of those listed. The Polaris 550 is a bit lacking compared to the others in the power department.

Truly appreciate it. I will look more closely at the power steering issue. I've never had it in the past so I'm a little lacking in expertise in that area. I agree on the Grizzly. My 660 was great. It's just getting very "tired".

I agree , don't think AC had power steering in 07. Come on now, you don't want your arm and shoulder muscles to atrophy, do you?

Is there something wrong with your Grizzly or maybe has a ton of miles on it? I recently traded my Grizzly 660 for the Brute Force 650 I have now. Mine was going to need quite a bit of work so I decided to just get rid of it instead of dumping more money into it. I wasn't even really looking to get a Brute Force but the dealer had this one with pretty low miles and the price wasn't bad either so I ended up getting it. I would have kept the Grizzly as I did like it but I do like the slight step up in power the v-twin in the Brute has over the 660 single even though its slightly smaller in displacement(633cc vs 660). It feels a bit sportier too with the solid rear axle and sits a little lower. It does have a little less ground clearance and the ride isn't quite as soft but its not bad. The bottom line is that its flat out just more fun to ride than the Grizzly was.

If you just want to add gas get the Grizzly. In 2008 Can am had that weak frame issue, I was looking at one.

Google " Can AM weak frame" you will be reading for awhile. Not sure what year had the fix but it sure was not before 2009.

A friend of mine found out firsthand about the Can-Am weak frames. In a minor impact he bent the frame on his Renegade 800 years ago. He kinda fixed it himself and ended up trading it in on a new Teryx not long after that. He is a pretty competent welder but I don't think it was ever completely straight after that. I feel bad for the next owner of that machine.
