Fantasy Trip
#1
I remember in the early 80`s I saw a show (documentary?) about some guy from England who took inner city underpriviledged kids across the Sahara desert on three wheelers (before 4 wheelers). Honda sponsored and supplied the machines. There was about 10 of them. They carried enough supplies to get them to the next little town where they had staged gas and more supplies. The route was maped so they could reach towns easily with the gas and supplies they carried and they crossed the whole Sahara. I`m guessing but I think it took them 2 weeks.
I think it would be cool to set up a trip like this also not necessarily with the kids or across the Sahara but something closer to home.
How about crossing the Rockies US or Canadian with atv`s. Something about a 1000 mi. long maybe average 100 mi. a day, 10 or so days to do it. A group of 10 to 12 experienced riders. We could try to get some sponsors like LL Bean, Coleman and people like that. I wonder if Kawasaki would give out 10 Prarie 650`s as an advertising promo. I would even supply my own atv of choice if a ride like this could be put together. Maybe we could get an atv magazine editor or some kind of media person as well.
SO WHO`S IN????????
The hardest part would be the logistics finding & planning a route, staging supplies and things like that. I don`t think I would have any trouble with finding riders.
It`s just a dream that I would like to try and make come true before I get too old. This wouldn`t happen in the near future obviously but a year or 2 of planning and it could happen.

Appalachian trail is for hikers only
Oregon trail is a possibility. How long is it?
The Autobahn is not rough enough and only take about 2 days to go 1000 miles.
Next suggestions
