Default Fluid in Airbox

I have a red oily fluid in my airbox, what is it? It filled the drain, and a 1/4 inch high in the bottom of the box. My K&N filter smells like gas, and is wet. Any ideas??

yea!! That is probably it. It has been sputtering in midrange too, so I was getting stuck on the carburators. Tore apart the carb, checked cleaned the jets, the "diaphram" etc... do you think the gas in the box could screw up the breathing that bad that it would cause it to sputter in midrange or do I have couple of problems?

the red oils is prolly the K&N oil, and gas prolly came in because the float was stuck because of dirt. so the gas came in and got all the oil off the filter. so the stuff in the bottom of the box is prolly a mix of air filter oil and gas
clean the carb and it should b ok, mine has done this b4 because dirt was clogged up in the carb
