Going to Glamis, Need some jetting info
#1
Guys and Gals,
Looks like I will be going to Glamis over the Thanksgiving weekend, WHOOOOHOOOOO. ANyhow, I currently ride at 6000-8000 ft of elevation with FMF/Fatty's, reeds, reed spacer, Proflow/K&N. My curent jetting is 240's. What would you recommend for the elevation of Glamis. I know it will be in the 300+ size range but Id like some input from those that have a similar setup. I still have my TORS junk, so I dont want to have to do a bunch of trial and error unless I have too. Thanks in advance, maybe Ill see you at Glamis! Oh yea, are fireworks allowed? Oh yea, its a banshee...

You will be happy with either 300's or 310's depending on the temperature and weather. Here in Phoenix (altitude 1,625')I am running 310 mains with 30 pilots with no problems although I would probably run 290's or 300's if I rode here exclusively. Fireworks aren't permitted but you will see plenty of them anyway. Just be careful, they have really stepped up the patrolling and enforcement at the dunes in the last couple of years.

Use 320's.
This is for pipes, no airbox lid, proflow kit, reeds, stock porting, stock compression, stock pilots, needles in 4th groove from top, 92 octane pump gas at 32:1 (Yamalube R, Silkolene Comp-2, Klotz Super Techniplate). BTW - I like the Klotz oil because it burns clean and is a synthetic + castor blend.
I leave mine with 320's all season. Better to be safe than sorry, and I haven't had problems with fouling plugs. I had run 300's at first but noticed the motor starting to lean out at the tops of big dunes. Ran 310's and it ran OK, but went to 320's to be safe.

i have toomey pipes with his jet kit. i run a 300 main and the stock pilot jet with the 4 grove on the nitle jet. i just hope there is still a glamis that we can ride at. as of the first of the year (2001). glamis is going to be cut in hafe. from the wall down 4 miles of this side of butter cup is going to be closed. we need to do something about this. go to glamisonline.org and read up on it. we all need to do our part.

I knew this was a rumor, but where did you hear about the specific part of the dunes to be closed? How in hell can they do this without considering the off road crowd? It appears they want to close down the very best parts. This is a total crock of BS...If we all love our sport, then more of us better make our wishes known!
Tell me it ain't so!!!

Dont have jetting info, but I wanted to remind you to please keep Glamis clean. They have a *giant* trash bin near the Ranger Station to throw away waste.
Bring plenty of trash bags and please use them. Also dont burn wood pallets unless you want to contribute to the nail problem.
