I called my Yamaha dealership today. It seems the foot pedal is about a half-inch too low above the foot rest, but it is not worth trying to raise it as long as the brakes are working okay. If the rear brake gets to squealing, ride it a little or use it hard a little and see if it stops squealing. And if it wears out again, use DP or EBC parts.

You must have the shims on these brake pads or they will make noise, there are 2 on each brake pad, one with holes and one without, are they on? Is the pad surface clean? as mentioned.. little tiny stones can cause a lot of noise on these. How do the rotors look? any scoring or gouging?

My foot pedal kept getting stuck, or the cable up to the hand brake would stick - I disconnected the damn thing! I don't use it anymore - My rear brakes work better because of it...

Oh and I have Dual-rear discs anyhow
