Default 700R not fast enough....

I'm totally confused on why the Raptor 700R doesn't run away in the speed department. Come on it's a 700...& all the 450's can keep up & some even beat the Raptor 700. KTM's 525xc is hands down faster.... forward or reverse. I'm a great supporter of Yamaha but it's a shame that the 700 is too slow for the amount of cc's it has.

There is more to hp than just cc's. The Raptor was not built to race. It is a very good all around quad. The 450's are built for one thing.......racing.

Like the 660cc motor the 700 is derived from a "recreational" off/on motorcycle motor. The 450s and 525s are derived from a hold nothing back full fledged, motocross racing motorcycle engine.

Dont feel bad,I can barely outrun the 400s with my v-force 700.I cant explain why the 450s are so fast but their hard to beat.

the 450s are fast because they run alot high comp than a 700. the reason they didnt put high comp on the raptor is for reliability. i wanna see any 450 outrun a big bore raptor 700.

cant wait to see how the 907cc big bore kit rocket inds. is putting out soon runs.

A Raptor 700 with the 3-mods will walk away from a piped/jetted/air filter YFZ.

I haven't raced a KTM so, won't say anything about that.

If you are comparing a YFZ with a pipe to a stock 700 then you aren't comparing apples to apples.

All this being said. . . what do you want to do with your bike? I'm a duner. The big-bore is great. Less shifting, tons of torque, more comfortable, etc. The YFZ is a great bike but, wouldn't be my personal choice as a duner. . . that's just me.

Yhea definetly do the top 3 mods on the 700 and it is a night and day difference.

for sure. with my 3 mod 700 its a very good race vs a yfz450 with big 3 and the yfz cam mod.
