Curtis Sparks around $560. HMF is good too for probably less money.

HMF all the way. The Ballance and the Sport are pretty much the same pipe just you get a torque stuffer for the Ballance as well. The Ironman has a bigger headpipe I believe, which skews power towards the upper rpms. Basically they are all pretty similar with good gains across the board. Only problem is they tend to run loud even with the quiet core. Otherwise great company, great customer service. I am very happy with the product.

If your friend got a Curtis Sparks you will be pissed off when you won't be able to hear your engine over his! They are LOUD! But I understand you want to be different.

Lots of options for exhaust on a YFZ450. You will have to factor in if you will be racing, if your riding areas have noise limitations, etc.

Personally I went with the HMF Sport Series in Candy Red. Still nets a great power gain even with the quiet core installed. Without the quiet core, it's loud, and even faster.

I think most people would tell you that opting for a new head pipe is probably a waste of money on a YFZ. The stock head pipe is very good, and you keep your heat shield as well. Probably not worth twice the price of a slip-on for a couple extra horse.
