Wheel spacers for '05 Kodiak
I have an 05 Kodiak and notice it to be unstable and tippy when side hilling compared to my old '06 polaris. I have 25"x12.5 Bear claws in the rear, and 25"x10's on the front. Has anyone out there put 1" or 1 1/2" spacers on the quad to make it more stable?? If so what do you reccomend as far as spacer size and brand. I have different aftermarket rims in the back, and they measure 46 3/4" wide, and my front tires have the origional rear rims, and they measure 41 3/4" wide. I would also imagine that my fron and back boxes that i keep my hunting stuff in doesn't help matters also. Does anyone have any suggestions??
thanks,
Mike

Search for past threads on the positives and negitives of spacers. Once you use them..youll probably take them off. If you put them in the front, it just gives rocks and stumps more leverage on the handlebars, then your hands and arms do. If you put them on the rear, it really increases the understeer.
I think alot of the issues with the yamahas feeling tippy, is the camber on the front tires, which isnt adjustable. I think they went for easy steering effort, over stability.
Brand means almost nothing. But the ones with the new studs attached are better, as they just bolt up, with out modifing the machine.
