Default Upgrade for '07 Wolverine 450

I own a 2007 Yamaha Wolverine 450 Special Edition and I love this quad. I have been riding since I was five years old. The only thing I would like to change is the speed. I would like more power and speed. Does anyone have any suggestions on an upgrade that could help me out and not kill my checkbook?

The first mods needed are a new exhaust pipe, new air filter, rejet the carb, EPI clutch kit, Hauck clutch modification.

Definetly follow what yota says. Pipe filter and jet kit. The hauck clutch mod will give you more speed all the way around. The epi will give you more low end power but you will lose top end speed.

It is hard to say which is better....They both have a different look and sound, but the performance is probably the same. Go to youtube and type in wolverine HMF, and wolverine GYTR.....you should be able to find sound clips of both. I liked the sound of the HMF a little more, so that is the route I went.

Yhea the postings on youtube seemed to have helped a few people so far me and one of the other members posted them there so that people could compare them. I really like the look of the gytr pipe and I knew since it was made by yamaha that I wouldnt have worry about any fitment issues either. Plus I had a guy at yamaha that has a wolvy with the GYTR pipe so I was able to hear it before I bought it.

As far as performance it will be about the same, I have heard about some people thinking the HMF was a little too loud especially without the quitecore so that also made a factor in my decision to go with the gytr since I ride around cattle some.

I think it has a nice tone, it's not high pitched.
