Default wolverine 450 stuck in mud

a couple weeks ago i was riding on my wolvi and i decided to go through what looked like a small creek. as i rode into it i soon figured out that it was much worse that i thought. i tried to back up but it wouldnt budge. the water was about a couple of inches away from the exhaust pipe and every couple minutes it would sink down by maybe half an inch. so i kept the wolvy running so it didnt stal but whenever i put it in neutral the neutral light and the park light would be on at the same time. so i thought it was bad so i kept in reverse and kept it running while my friend and i pried it out with some boards. after we got it unstuck the park light was still on but faint. the next day it was fine and i was just wandering why both lights were on when i put it in neutral. and also, what would be the best winch for my wolvy without spending too much money. also should it be a 1500 or 2000?

most all the winch mounts I have seen mount low in the front end under the bumper on top of the frame or in between the bumper.
