Stop lying about top speed of your atv
I have a friend that just bought a 07 raptor 700 off the showroom floor with no mods and he swears he is running 88 to 90 mph. Now i know a little bit about most atvs because im a reader of mags and a few forums. I research something before i give my opinion. Now from what i have read , he has lost his damn mind and i informed him that top speed is somewhere between 75 and 80 at the most in stock form. but he is one of those guys that knows everything even when he doesnt know anything at all. Can't tell him nothing. So.. those of you that own one reply with real numbers so i can show him what other owners are saying. and would also like to know what mods are needed to get to the numbers he is claiming.

A friend of mine was riding a 660 raptor and it topped out stock at about 115 Kms on the highway and my brother-in-law has a grizzly 700 that runs at a maximum speed of 105 Kms doing the coversions I think the grizzly is around 61 or 62 mph and the 660 runs around 69 or 70 ish mph. I'm not a math-a-matition but I belive those numbers since my 450 after larger tires and the clutch kit to go with the tires will show about 85 Kms or so on the speedo. Down hill and the god of wind pushing me from behind. Just lightly pushin'.

This will clear him up. Get your car up to 70 mph and he will be lucky to stay with you on a paved road let alone pass you at 20 mph. I used to have this arguments with people who had 1970s 440 TNT ski-doos who thought they did 80-90 mph, Well no they feel like 80 mph but you really doing 55-60 tops.

Yeah man, 90 mph on a quad is something you see at a half time show for a monser truck rally.
Maybe some dudes get Kms and mph mixed up. 'Cause I'm pretty sure 100 Kms sounds fast but it's really 60 mph or so.
After a few of those Canadian beers even 60 Kms looks fast eh?!

Make a bet with him. Tie a GPS on the handlebars, and say he has to get within 5% of what he claims, or its bullshit. The GPS will capture top speed, and is very accurate.
Tell him put up or shut up.
But on the other hand...if hes a good friend, just put up with the bs....we all do it from time to time.
I know Ive had my foreman 450, up to 95mph...no bullshit, and you can too. Just put it in the back of your pickup, and go down the hwy.
