How to fix this problem for my 660 grizzly

Default How to fix this problem for my 660 grizzly

everyday that its cold outside i start up my wheeler and its hard to start but then i have the problem of it back fireing in high gear then i noticed ice was coming out of the carburator how do we get that ice out or prevent it from doing that

Ice coming out of the carb? You sure it's not condensation that's freezing?

As for the hard starts.... Your valves are probably tight...

ya im sure but when the weather gets better the wheeler runs so good after it warms up

yeah, it runs better when it's warmer out because the valves arn't sticking as bad because the oil isn't as cold... I suggest a valve adjustment...

Plus cold air makes for leaner mixtures, which might also explain the hard starting and back fire on let off. If the valves are in spec, try going 1/4 turn richer on the mixture screw.

Default How to fix this problem for my 660 grizzly

check this first.its out of my repair manual.

engine backfires
1) pilot mixture screw adjusted too lean
2)air leaks into exaust system
3)inoperative air cut-off valve(backfiring during deceleration) located on side of carb.its a cover with 2 screws.
4)damaged ignition pickup coil(also check ignition timing)
