Default Blaster Oil Block Off Kit?

I have a 2004 blaster with not too many hours of the machine, but i was wondering if i should put the oil block off kit on it since i hear of the oil pump failing. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

Default Blaster Oil Block Off Kit?

it seems this is a split subject. many people say the pumps are no good and must be blocked off and others will say the opposite. the gears on the pump are plastic which sounds weak but if you think about it they are lubed and the pump does not require much to turn it. i do know people who still have the original pump on there old blaster and its fine. myself i blocked mine off.i know i can mix my own gas/oil correctly, plus i can tailor it to my own needs. plus i wanted the weight savings of the tank and pump, which is about 6 lbs (full). so i guess im saying if you feel comfy to mix your own at 32:1. and want the weight savings go for it.but others wise i think the pumps are reliable. good luck
